God never promised roses
Strewn along the way He never promised angels
A life without some pain
He never promised us
Great riches we would gain
Upon His name in prayer
Down on our head in prostration
That He would meet us there
God promised us to be
A shelter from the storm
A Rock on which to lean
Strength when we are worn
He promised us a refuge
Beneath His gentle wing
And through the troubled waters
He would not let us drown
He promised us a Home
If only faithful we would stay
Forever promised roses
Strewn along the way

A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream.
The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food.
The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him.
She did so without hesitation.
The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune.
He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime.
But, a few days later, he came back to return the stone to the wise woman.
"I've been thinking," he said.
"I know how valuable this stone is,
but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious.
Give me what you have within you
that enabled you to give me this stone."
Sometimes it's not the wealth you have
but what's inside you that others need.

With someone who is troubled,
Their chin upon their chest.
Neither pill nor tonic Can lift up a friend, Like a heart felt laugh,
And a smile shared now and then.

I've experienced here on earth--
Thank You for protecting me
from the moment of my birth--
And Thank You for the beauty
around me everywhere,
The gentle rain and glistening dew,
the sunshine and the air,
The joyous gift of "feeling"
the soul's soft, whispering voice
That speaks to me from deep within
and makes my heart rejoice--
Oh, GOD, no words are great enough
to thank You for just living,
And that is why every day
is a real BLESSING.

Into a box of friendship
To insure that it is strong
First a layer of respect
On the bottom does belong Then to the sides attach
In the corners where they meet Several anchors full of trust Devoid of all deceit
The height of friendship can be measured
By the sides of four
So make them all a larger cut And the box will hold much more
Now fill it up with courtesy Honor and esteem Understanding, sympathy
And passion for a dream
Add to that your honesty Emotions joy and love
And since they're so important Place them up above
But leave the box wide open
So all can see inside
To learn what makes
a friendship work
From the box you

He gave her none emotion,

She’s through trying now,
her efforts exhausted her drive
The beautiful irony is
now he may need her in his life Now he may love her,
it might hit him really hard
He might feel restless & disgusted
but leave him
she must
She’s not happy, she’s searching for more
Maybe she was destined
to be dissatisfied, to be
eternally jaded
Sadness engulfs me,
it tightens
my chest
I hate him for hurting her,
He didn't see her love until
she’s gone
I'm not sure
if he can see it now
This game is definitely through
He didn't love her,
And now she can't love him anymore.

Well,
We got to touch one.
We know you

still here.
We just wish you were here with us.
If we only look back with a smile
instead of a tear
we would all be okay.
We will never understand why God took you
from us.
We know we're not to question why.
We know He has his reasons.
We know everything happens for a reason.
We are just filled with so much sadness
for the same reason.
Thinking about why you had to go.

No love can ever replace . . .
Once in a while
there comes an angel in our life,
who touches our heart
in each and every possible way,
with a smile,
puts an end to our everyday strife,
and goes away from us even before
a word we could say.
You were one such angel, who is a part of my life with just one look,
you made me realize
what i lack,
like the cold breeze that the distant sea could bring,
You made me listen to the sweet melody
that love could sing.
You showed me the way
to walk into
an everlasting bliss,
there could be no other feeling sweeter than your kiss,
your words gave me all the answers i desired in my heart,
the feelings you gave,
I'm sure no one else could ever impart.
Life is so colorful,
so beautiful with you around,
i no longer feel like
i'm standing out here alone,
All the time we were together,
the heavens open the sky, to let us see all those beautiful stars
shining so high.
In you,
i found the
meaning for my existence on this earth,
You pulled me out of the darkness
and showed me my worth,
all the dreams i have had all the time,
seemed only to say,

A LITTLE HOUSE CLEANING
I threw out Worrying,
it was getting old and in the way.
It kept me from being me;
I couldn't do things my way.
I threw out those Inhibitions;
they were just crowding me out.
Made room for my New Growth,
got rid of my old dreams and doubts.
I threw out a book on MY PAST
(didn't have time to read it anyway).
Replaced it with New Goals,
started reading it today.
Bought in some new books too,
called I CAN, I WILL, and I MUST.
Threw out I might, I think and I ought.
WOW, You should've seen the dust.
I ran met my FOREVER COMPANION,
his name is GOD,
Yes, I really like His style.
He helped me to do some cleaning and added some thing's Himself.
Like PRAYER, HOPE and FAITH,
Yes I placed them right on the shelf.
I picked up this special thing and placed it at the front door.
I FOUND IT - its called PEACE.
Nothing gets me down anymore.
Yes, I've got my house looking nice.
Looks good around the place.
For things like Worry and Trouble there just isn't any place.
Its good to do a little house cleaning,
get rid of the old things on the shelf.
It sure makes things brighter;
And life much so much more lively and simple
and pleasurable!!!
